A Ostra e a Pérola

A pearl is produced inside an oyster in response to irritation caused by a foreign object; in other words, we can say that pearls are the result of discomfort and pain. Only an oyster that refuses to remain passive in the face of adversity—choosing instead to take an active stance—is capable of producing a pearl. This title prompts us to reflect on the profound impact that the pain of grief has on us as human beings. We were not created for this moment of separation; consequently, regardless of the difficulties that may precede it, we are never truly prepared to face grief.
